Wings of the North’s Annual Airplane Giveaway!
September 27th Drawing for a Classic Aeronca Airplane
Pancakes, too!!!
Eden Prairie, Minn. – Wings of the North’s 6th annual Airplane Sweepstakes ends on September 27 with the drawing of the winning ticket during the nonprofit group’s fall pancake breakfast on Flying Cloud Airport from 8am to 11am. The winner has their choice of either an actual, airworthy 1950 Aeronca Champion airplane or $30,000 cash! Access will be through Gate H on the northwest corner of the airport approximately one mile west of Flying Cloud Drive on Pioneer Trail. The drawing is expected to take place in the 9:30 to 9:45 timeframe but could be adjusted to meet live media coverage requests.
The sweepstakes is a fundraiser for the all-volunteer aviation history group with entries available through 5PM CDT on Wednesday, September 24, on the group’s website at www.wotn.org/sweepstakes. All proceeds go toward supporting the group’s popular Minnesota-themed aviation museum on Flying Cloud Airport and its many programs. Admission to the museum is included with the cost of the breakfast which is $10 for adults and kids 12 and up, $25 for a family of 2 adults & 2 kids, $5 for kids 6 to 11, and free for kids 5 and under. Breakfast is available while supplies last.
Wings of the North is an IRS 501c3 nonprofit group that has been on Flying Cloud Airport for more than 27 years producing a popular aviation show each summer. The pancake breakfast and sweepstakes drawing will be held in the Wings of the North Air Museum which just celebrated its second anniversary in their present, temporary location. The group is working to find a larger, permanent museum site on Flying Cloud Airport.
