Beacon of Strength Mental Health Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children's Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate is experienced in play therapy and loves working with children and families in a therapeutic setting. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with great organization and time management skills.
This role involves connecting with new clients, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. The therapist will work collaboratively with clients and their families to foster a supportive environment that promotes healing and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' mental health needs.
 - Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments and therapeutic goals.
 - Provide individual and family therapy sessions utilizing various therapeutic modalities, including play therapy and crisis intervention techniques.
 - Maintain accurate medical documentation and data collection to track client progress and treatment outcomes.
 - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
 - Support clients in crisis situations by implementing effective crisis intervention strategies.
 - Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health therapy.
 
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
 - Valid state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist or equivalent certification. Must be fully licensed. (LICSW, LPCC, LMFT)
 - Experience in special education or working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
 - Experience in Play Therapy.
 - Proficiency in medical documentation practices and data collection methods.
 - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
 - Commitment to ethical practice and maintaining client confidentiality.
